Summary

Firefly Games is looking for a well-versed individual with solid knowledge of traditional marketing, corporate communication and public relations to join our Marketing and User Acquisition team as Marketing Manager. This is an excellent opportunity where you will be reporting to our Director of Marketing, focusing on marketing actions to drive user acquisition for games at Firefly. You will have the opportunity to develop market positioning and manage the partnerships around Firefly Games’ portfolio. This position is based in our Los Angeles office, North American Headquarters, and requires a creative mentality, an analytical mindset, and an understanding of media inside and out.

As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for both executing big-picture marketing strategy and taking ownership of the tasks necessary to fulfill Firefly’s marketing goals.

This role works closely with senior management team and all other functional teams within Firefly Games to drive marketing efforts while continuing to engage and delight our players’ community. Your efforts will help us define our brand and further establish our presence in both the mobile gaming and entertainment industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Firefly’s internal production team and our partner game developers to craft product positioning and overall marketing strategy for Firefly Games’ portfolio
  • Take ownership of worldwide marketing plans, positioning documents, and budgeting for partner developer free-to-play games while collaborating with our external development partners and internal teams
  • Drive visual asset creation processes for marketing execution in partnership with the in-house Creative Services team, freelancers, and creative agencies on key art, logo, app icons, screenshots, trailers, App Store assets, website, user acquisition assets, social media content, e-mail marketing, etc.
  • Represent Firefly Games to first parties including but not limited to Apple and Google, serving as the primarily point of contact for both marketing and licensing
  • Plan, execute and analyze marketing efforts across various channels, influencers, and other media platforms aligned to major milestones for the games to drive growth
  • Collaborate with respective internal teams on influencer marketing campaigns: identification of influencers, direct outreach, vendor vetting, negotiation, ROI reporting and competitive reviews
  • Develop social media content strategy & execution with our Player Experience team : conceptualize bold ideas, maintain and execute content calendars, determine visual needs and work with in-house Concept Artists to craft them
  • Communicate and provide reporting to Director of Marketing and senior management of the company on project plans, status, challenges to meeting objectives, and action plans to achieve milestones
  • Set the strategy for external writing and communications including Firefly Games’ company website, events, PR and industry opportunities, and the Firefly’s social channels
  • Keep up to date on the latest trends and news in the F2P gaming, marketing, tech, and mobile industries with an eye on competitors

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • BA/BS Undergraduate Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or related field
  • 2-4 years’ experience in marketing games, mobile apps, or entertainment brands. Free-to-play experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: must be able to establish and maintain relationships, gain the respect of your peers, and be comfortable and genuine in presentations
  • Ability to juggle with multiple projects across platforms, networks and media channels, and work effectively and accurately under pressure
  • Solid understanding of the elements of a marketing plan and digital marketing communications
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office - particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Data analysis experience using Excel and/or similar tools a big plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere) a plus
  • Expert user of all social media platforms and experience with social media publishing & tracking tools
  • Strong sense of brand and editorial voice, with the ability to harmonize message across multiple marketing vehicles
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail with a well-organized, highly results-driven and self-motivated mindset
  • Passionate for games is a huge plus, with a genuine interest in players’ communities
